What is the shelf-like gizmo below the companionway?
I just have a couple of things to add to the answers you have already
gotten. There are actually two "shelf-like gizmos" at about that
spot. The one on the cockpit side is storage for the centerboard
pennant when the centerboard is raised. The one on the cabin side
is 1) Additional seating space when the table is in the cabin; 2)
A place for a very long drawer (I keep the table upright and the
storm anchor in there); 3) A step down from the cockpit; and 4)
Part of the double bed when the table top is taken off of its
upright and placed between the seats.
You probably figured all this out, but gotta put my two cents in. ;)
