Hi folks,

On my 1988 Rhodes the lazarette is sealed from the bilge. It does not have
an opening to the bilge like I hear some of you describe on your boats.
John Seymour describe openings from under the cockpit seats into the cabin.
My boat has no such openings As far as I can tell you can not reach or see
under the cockpit from the lazarette or from the cabin. Is this normal or
did someone make modifications? The front bottom of my lazarette is just
rough fiber glass painted white. You can get from under the cockpit seats
into the top of the laz.

A couple of time I got rain water in the laz and had to pump it out from
there - I have one of the boat that has a couple of leaks while on the
trailer and non while in the water.

Not trying to start an old fight, but (uhm sorry again) since the laz is
opened to the outside from under the cockpit seats, why wouldn't you call it
a ventilated storage space?
