Sam,
Seems to me you have nearly quoted the benefits of the Rhodes.
If you are not going to bluewater, this is the boat for what you have
described. Gunkholing can be done with this boat, (but I would use
a strong bottom paint like Interlux for that). The ease of in/out with
two people is a major draw for the Rhodes.
It has the niceties for entertaining: large cocktail area, poptop for lots
of air and circulation, stove for coffee water, large hidden storage in
lazarette. Sailing with the IMF is a little different, but I have watched
the boys in the big boats go from standard to IMF and have quite a bit
of trouble....you will adapt faster on this boat. It can be very sporty and
rise to the "X" degrees when you want to go there!
Where do you live now? I am on KY lake and have sailed every weekend
in Dec. You are welcome to come give her a test drive!
