Joe,

At a dock or at anchor, it takes very heavy downpour to overwhelm the
drainage capacity of our Nicro vent.  However, we have seen it happen.
Other times, you should consider removing it & plugging the hole is when
trailering & also when swabbing the deck.

In addition, certain types of airborne fallout such as tree pollen, oak
seeds, & dandelion fuzz can get caught in the vent & plug up the drainage
channels.  Then, even a relatively minor rainstorm will cause water to leak
below deck.
