[Rhodes22-list] trailer brakes & axles

I've gone through the Champion catalog and also
discovered SouthWest Wheel in Dallas.  They have a
tandem axle kit with electric brakes priced right.  My
single with springs has seen better days so for the
price I don't see the point in including it in a new
package.  My question is this; axles are sized
starting at 2000# and then jump to 3500#, the single
axle trailer uses a 5200# axle, does using two 3500#
axles in tandem give the boat to "bouncy" a ride? I
haven't seen anything in between. Second, has anyone
tried rubber torsion instead of the old leaf springs?  Brad.
