Alex,
In fact I haven't rebuilt my rudder yet either. I have said in the past, that my Rhodes 22 came free with the trailer I was buying to haul a MacGregor. I saw the Rhodes wasn't in really bad shape for sitting open in the weather for about 8 years; and it just had a certain character to it. I decided to keep the rhodes and restore it instead of buying the Mac.
I have put alot of time into the boat since July. I put a new axle on the trailer, made a mast crane/support system --- copying the GB design. I over engineered it, but the mast crane worked better than I could have imagined. My hat is off to Stan for a wonderful design.
The weather is getting too cold for fiberglass work, so I will be putting her up for winter and concentrating on buying hardware, lines and sails. These are the sort of times I kick myself for leaving Hawaii. :^( But the anticipation of the project keeps me sane.
So with the grace of God and the patient help of people here, I will have the wind in my face come next May.
Todd
P.S. Welcome to the new list.
