So ... why do those folks in powerboats all seem to have
nice canvas cockpit covers an sailboats have none?  This
came home to me as I was trying to wash out the millions
of dead bugs, spiders, and assorted other visitors.  I would
think that one could sew up a cover which connects to the boom
room snaps and has openings for the winches and cleats.
Has anyone done this?

PS: I got to watch the Chicago Police Department try to keep
a holed Hunter 240 from sinking at the pier in Saturday.  Great
fun.
