Todd,

Truth be know, though I purchased a small pump early in the season, we've had no water to pump, and with totally dry bilges, I haven't been able to to judge the best location to install the thing, so haven't.

Figures, uh?

The floatation and seat drains may have been owner specified when built?? So while my boat had seven or eight years of leaf litter in the cockpit when I got her, the laz was pretty much dry. My seat drains are a couple of 3/8" in the seat gutters and into the cockpit near the companionway. If I can find through hull fittings with a low profile, I will install them in the aft corner pockets like most have and tee the lines into the cockpit drain line.

I also had water in the area under the cockpit where the rear floatation is when the cockpit filled after it rained and the cockpit drain clogged. The O-ring in the access plate dried out allowing the water to enter. On my boat, this area is separated from the bilge by the 3/4" plywood aft bulkhead of the cabin, and most of the water eventually ended up in the bilge too.
