Roger,
Glad things shook themselves out. They usually do. I know everyone on the list was rooting for Gary (and you and Deb!) Once these things are history they make for great stories--they are the times you never forget.
Glad Daniel is doing well, too, however it was easy to see, even from a great distance, that the most exasperating stories always had Gary's name on them.

Bill,
Gary is becoming quite a remarkable young man. He made Eagle Scout last
year. He is currently in the 10th grade, on the honor role, & driving.
Gary has had a part time after school & weekend job at Dunham's Sporting
Goods in Midland, MI since last September. He's saving to buy a car. So
far, he's socked away about $1800 towards it. As the end of the school year
nears, he's been interviewing to get a 2nd job over the summer, probably as
a waiter in a nice restaurant. His goal is to have saved $4000 towards his
car by the time school starts next fall.
Gary has calmed down & matured a lot.
His future career plans switch back & forth between journalism & law
enforcement - detective or FBI agent. He would have loved being an embedded
journalist during the recent Iraq war.
His older brother Daniel is just finishing his 1st year at Northern Michigan
University up in Marquette, MI. Daniel's major is still Graphic Arts, with
an emphasis on Electronic Imaging. He made the dean's list in the Fall
semester. We'll see how he does in his 2nd semester. He carried a heavier
class load & had more difficult classes. Daniel will be home for the summer
a week from today. Since NMU gets out so early, Daniel plans to look for
work after he gets home.
Deb & I are quite proud of both of them.
