[Rhodes22-list] Mast Lowering

My technique is to use both a winch and a wench. I use the GBI crane winch
to raise and lower my IMF on the water while my wench reads Stan's
instructions. When she reads the humorous bits, I yell at her. She tearfully tries to
get it right and after much yelling and crying, the mast goes up or done just
fine.

The only exception was when I first lowered the mast. In that case the mast
step tore out because the aft bottom of the mast was not beveled. The mast
crashed down the last few feet. Fortunately, there was no physical damage to me
or the boat beyond the mast step and crane mount. The comforting arms of my
wench was all that was needed to repair my psyche.
