Bob,

The enclosed picture is of the hatch slide on a much newer R-22.  Trust me,
your companionway  sliding hatch is NOT built this way.  The design of the
sliding hatch in the enclosed picture addresses the problem of abrasive wear
I mentioned in my earlier post.  You could retrofit this improved design.
But, that would involve purchasing the entire pop top, companionway hatch, &
hatch slides - probably a fairly expensive proposition.
