Agree with Rummy on the base. They must break a lot of table legs in RV's, 
'cause the RV stores always seem to have them in stock.

I would think that the rule of thumb of twice your boat length (44 ft) 
would work well for your genoa sheets. This will be enough for both sheets, 
btw. 3/8" should be plenty big enough to be easy on your hands. There is no 
need to cut this into two pieces either. You can just double your line so 
both tails match in length. Pass the middle loop through the cringle, then 
pull your tails through the loop, running one tail to each side. This makes 
for a much smaller knot to be catching on things when you tack.

Don't have halyards myself 'cause I've got IMF, but 1/4 or 5/16 is what I 
usually hear for halyards.
