I know you will throw a marlin spike at me for his, but I use some old garden, split in 1 foot lengths, slide it on, wire tie in
place(11 inches to get it tight), cut the wire ties in the morning. simple. The polished bow chokes are pretty nice to the rode as
is.
BTW using colored wires every 25 feet on the rode is a simple system for knowing how mush is out(1 red 50 feet, 2 red 75, 1 blue
100, 1blue and 1 red 125, etc...) simple and they hold up better then the flags.
