I change the system date to defeat an annoying copy protection system that I have to wrestle with on a daily basis.  Sometimes I forget to change it back.  Usually I hear about it first from people receiving my checks.

Hey Bill,  I think the date on your computer is wrong.  Your posts are
coming in marked January and flopping to the bottom on my list instead of
