Hold on there!!!
Peter -
I think you came late to this thread. Ed and Bill Effros were basically
tweaking me for putting the boat up for sale last year and then not
following thru.
At the moment, it is not for sale. Though, that being said, it very well
may be this winter, depending on if Whoopi Goldberg is able to pull of a
successful Sitcom.
At any rate, I will certainly only sell it to someone with similar political
leanings ;).

Hello Bill,
I have been a list lurker for about 6 months now -- just monitoring R22 list
activities and thinking that someday perhaps I will own an R22. My father,
who passed last February, taught me to sail at age 8 on the Barnegat Bay in
NJ. In 1976, he purchased a Rhodes Continental and then moved to
Indianapolis, where he sailed it for many years on Lake Monroe. It was the
best he ever owned -- and he owned many during his life. In an obsession to
increase his racing results on Lake Monroe, he unfortunately seriously
modified his boat by cutting off the keel/cb and replacing it with a custom
designed (by him) daggerboard with a 400# lead bulb he could lower to a
depth of 6' with a winch. Although this effectively ruined the cabin space,
he screamed around Lake Monroe for a few seasons at warp speed! Have you
ever heard of an RC with a daggerboard?
I am both glad to finally see an apparently decent R22 for sale and sad that
you might be leaving the list, as your political views seem to be more akin
to my own than other more conservative listies. Our country seems to be
turning down a dark road, with such a great concentration of wealth now
among just a tiny percentage of the population-- probably all W's buddies.
Many people don't seem to know or care, but it seems to me that education,
medical care, and individual rights for the great majority of us will suffer
and be subordinate to "corporate rights" and returns on corporate
investment, unless the people decide to turn this trend around.
Anyway, I would like to know more about your boat. Can you e-mail me some
pictures? At the end of June, I need to travel to Baltimore to pick up my
friend Tana, who is returning from Nicaragua on a "Witness for Peace"
mission. Would then be a possible time to look at your boat? I could
leave a day or so early.
Best,
