Bill,
Cool, I did not know that bit it makes sense. That yard was there for along
time. I just remember a bunch of Naval ships in dry docks undergoing various
stages of repairs. My Dad would take me to work every now and then and I
would go out on sea trials. I was only 10 years old but I got a kick out of
it. If things were going smoothly he would let me steer for short periods.
One time he took me up on top of a big crane, I remember the thing really
swaying back and forth. It scared me more than the Cyclone or Wonder Wheel
out at Coney Island.
