racers I know "dry sail" and use a teflon POLISH (better than the waxes)
on
their bottoms...I don't know anyone who waxes....they sand to get the
smoothest finish and then they polish..a few companies make
polishes...you
can find them next to the waxes at most stores...if you can feel any
dimples
or bumps, you haven't finished sanding...the bottoms of the boats (no
matter
how awful the paint job) are incredibly smooth......the slicker the
finish,
the faster the boat......these do not protect the finish like a wax
would...they are used to make the other sailors nervous...
