Ed,

We petitioned to have it reinstated - it wasn't in the 2001 and 2002
Portsmouth ratings. We had to go back to 2000 to find it. I think they'll
need more than "less than 5" data points to even begin to consider multiple
ratings for a boat very few people (at least in their eyes) race.

Mark,

      You said that you petitioned for a Portsmouth Rating and it shows
a Rhodes 22 Continental rating.  But there are two main kinds of R22's.
A quick look at the O'Day 22 and the Ranger 23 show several varieties
listed.  Since you know how to communicate to these guys, it might be
best for you to tell them about the differences.  It might help Wally.
      Also, there is a group of R22 sailors located near Edenton who
regularly race their boats, but are not on the list (or at least do not
communicate on the list).  Those guys have apparently collectively
changed to standard rigs for competitive reasons.  It might be nice to
know how their boats are rated.  I do not know their names, only having
casually met two of them, but they know Stan.  Maybe you could get
handle on this PERF thing before you cruise around the world.

      Another issue was the Gel Coat repair reference.  I get enough
subscriptions coming at me.  Your reference to Gel Coat repair
apparently would require another.  Do you have reference that does not
require another subscription?
