Subject: steering harness for Rhodes 22
Greetings, We are interested in having a boatyard install a steering wheel and steering cable/harness on our 1988 Rhodes 22 which would enable us to more easily steer our outboard motor when we move in an out of our tight port. It can be awkward to reach around the rigging to steer by hand. We currently have the General Boats' installed motor lift and plan to buy a new Honda 9 hrp outboard motor.
Our question is what type of steering gizmos/harness, etc would be best and what are the concerns with having one installed? . Also, what company would sell the steering apparatas? Installation would be done by a boatyard as this is beyond our experience. (Unless we can talk Stan into to coming to Virgina to install it!) Thanks for your assistance. Regards, Bill North, King George, Va
