[Rhodes22-list] Mosquito Netting Bimini Room?

Hello Sheldon and welcome to the R22 list. Congrats on your purchase!

We have the "boom room" for our boat that encloses the entire cockpit and
cabin. It has standing headroom and its side panels can be removed or
replaced with screens. We think it's pretty deluxe and we use it a lot.
That said, it's not exactly mosquito-proof. It snaps neatly along the rail
but doesn't make for a perfectly tight seal. There are also some spots near
the front where the hungry little devils can find their way in. It's really
best as a rain or sun shelter. Photos available.

On the other hand, we also have the GB pop top enclosure that only encloses
the cabin top and companionway. It has screens as well and it's fairly
bug-proof--more so than the boom room. Photos available.

We don't have a bimini top and I've never heard of one being screened in,
but I suppose it could be done. I don't think you'll find specific
measurements though because R22's are not all identical. The biminis are
different too as are the mountings. It would have to be custom-made. Have
you asked Stan at General Boats?

The good news is that DEET, the active ingredient in many bug repellants,
has been recently found to be a lot less toxic than we once assumed. Deep
Woods Off is the best.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your Rhodes.
