Steve,
You are right about the fact that sometimes the US has to tolerate dictators to gain benefit. We supported one dictator during the Reagan administration and we are spending American lives in Iraq to un-do that damage today! (this military action you have openly cheered and defended).
You probably live in a house where over half of your consumer goods were made in China, so you are personally supporting a communist country. Just look at the label back of the printer or speakers hooked up to your computer (if not, you won't half to look very far).
There may not be any good reason to travel to Cuba...except that as Americans, we are free to do as we please.
If there was oil in Cuba, Bush would be inviting Castro to the White House for brandy and cigars. But Castro is way too smart to ever let that happen. History would just repeat itself and American big business would move in and take, take, take. Just like we did after the Spanish-American war.
