There are 2 problems w/ stern mounted letters on the R22.
They are (in random order)...
1. The motor and mount
2. The boarding ladder
So, basically there just isn't a large enough space for it. I've seen a
couple of boats with small letters just above the rub rail behind the
ladder, but I personally think it looks better on the sides.

Bill and Ed, thanks for the referral to Rik's site. I was not aware of it.
Lloyd, thanks for the pictures and including the letter sizes. BTW, I still
think that you will be the nearest Rhodie to me.
The examples so far are all on the sides. Am I correct in gathering that
this is the most common practice?
Any other Rhodies, your experience would be appreciated.
