Jerry-
Welcome to Brookville Lake, I started sailing there this year and have a
1985 Rhodes 22 and am also in Fairfield marina on a mooring. (Mooring
G14). There is another R22 docked at Hanna Creek. I'm still learning
how to sail her, so maybe we
Can learn from each other.
If you drop by Strictly Sail, they have a setup they sell specifically
for attaching a sailboat to a mooring at Fairfield, it's a little
expensive, but I like supporting the local sail shop. That and a boat
hook is all you need!
See you on the lake.
Marc

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Introduction---recycled in near future
Hello, Just a few words to introduce myself. My name is Jerry Barnett,
Cincinnati, Ohio. A new sailor in practice, but a sailor at heart. I
like to ride motorcycles, have two (Honda valk and st1300). I have
always thought riding motorcycles is like sailing on land. Pick a
direction, mind the weather, hold on tight and travel as I please in the
U.S.
But back to Rhodes 22, I have put my money down on a soon to be recycled
1999. I believe this boat was named "New Song". I hope the original
owners parted with this boat in good times.
My home waters will be Brookville Lake, IN. At this time I have a
mooring buoy until my name comes up in the dock lottery. So any insight
as to how to correctly attach my boat to a mooring buoy would help a
lot. Stan/GBI has been great and is recycling as fast as he can. jerry
