Actually, Barry, if you downshift to a lower gear you will use more throttle
and more RPMs to travel a given distance... not less. But we all know what
you meant.

> Hello Rob, Your Honda, with the v-6 is going to do just fine. The secret
to a long and happy life of smaller motors is to not ask the motor to do
anything it is not capable of. For example; if you are facing an up hill
grade of 6% and it is 6 mi. long, it is 100 degrees, and your speed and
rpm's are falling? It is time to make an adjustment. Do not make the mistake
of floring the throttle and ignoring the water temp.
> As soon as you cannot maintain your speed manually select the next lower
gear so one half throttle is used. ( before the water temp. increases) Now
you are pumping more coolant, not stressing your transmission, and for extra
credit turn off your ac. for a few minutes. Barry
