Nell,

Rummy has kept a side list of information about individual owners who have passed through the automated list over the years.  Anyone can join the automated list.  Rummy periodically sends out his request for people who wish to be listed on his side list--with a few qualifications he has imposed to keep the list almost manageable.  The side list is never publicly posted, so everyone can't work on the same list at the same time.

It's a lot of work for one person.

Sometimes new people yell at Rummy for not maintaining his list to their satisfaction.  It's also a thankless job.

Periodically Rummy tries to figure out how to get other individuals to help him.  He always fails.

So he does it all himself.

And that's just one of the reasons we love him.

You can't help, because you don't have the list.  But if everyone who has one looked at their copy of the list, and edited it for Rummy, he could clean up the master from the back channel emails he got.  Yes, there would be a lot of duplication, but it would make Rummy's life easier.

If history is any guide, it probably won't happen, and Rummy will just muddle on.

Can someone explain exactly what "The List" is?
I subscribed to the Rhodes list at Stan's urging and have enjoyed it
immensely -
not to mention that I have learned invaluable information.
BUT! I do not own a Rhodes.
Mine is waiting to be built. Hopefully due to be born March, 2005.
Can one only belong to "The List" if one owns the Rhodes?
