Have you tried a dry PTFE lubricant like SailKote?

I have a Forespar whisker pole that has the snap lock ends. My problem is
that the ends don't seem to work very smoothly. I've tried several
lubricants including WD-40, but nothing seems to make it work the way I
think it should.  
Any help will be appreciated.
