[Rhodes22-list] Anchor rode storage

Doug,
Most of us have a second set of ground tackle under the cockpit seat in a container that fits under the seat. This can be carried forward, although I prefer stern anchoring when single handing. If I'm staying for a while I like 2 anchors because in Long Island Sound there will always be a 180 degree current shift and I don't want to hope for a successful automatic reset on the anchor. The stern anchor can be tied off at the bow if you feel too dopey pointing the opposite way from the rest of the fleet.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Anchor rode storage
Rhodies, where and how you store your anchor rode?
I have 200' of 3/8" line with 15' of chain. I ordered Stan's
anchor package option with the Danforth mounted on the bow rail
and rode storage in the small forepeak compartment over the
v-berth. The storage appears inadequate for my needs. The
access port is rather small and I barely had room to stow my
rode. That took me about 15 minutes of fiddling, time I shall
not have when retrieving the anchor singlehanding.
Some of you must have a better way - I hope you will share it.
Fair winds!
