Luis,
My OEM roler furler, is designed to use the OEM GBI 150% genoa that was
supplied with Rhodes 22's in those days. This sail is somewhat unusual in
that it does not use a halyard. Instead, it is permanently attached at the
head by bolting it to the top of the roller furling tube. The luff of the
sail is actually a fabric tube which is slid over the roller furling tube.
Once the luff tube is slid over the roller furling tube & the head of the
sail is bolted in place, the luff is tensioned with a Cunningham, which is
secured to the furling drum. The sail must be in place when the mast is
stepped and cannot be dropped unless the mast is unstepped. It's definitely
not a common design these days. But, any competent sail loft could probably
build you a sail that would work just fine. Of course, I'm sure GBI could
supply you with an appropriate sail at a very competitive price as well.
If the sail you already have has that luff tube; then, it will work with my
roller furler.
