Well the fibreglass is definitely the best route. But
I didn't think he had a real big hole that he was
dealing with. I have seen 3M 5200 do some real good
patch work. I guy with a Clysler 22 had water comeing
in at the swing keel bolt. Boat kept sanking. One
day Bill & I when over to talk to him & he show us
where the water was coming in at. He put all kinds of
epoxic patch there but due to the keel bolt that the
swing keel attaches to is expose; the movement of that
bolt kept causeing it to leak. Since it wasn't my
boat:-) we suggusted sanding the fibreglass around the
bolt & covering the whole bolt & about 6 inch circle
around it in 3M 5200. It quit leaking there and is
still floating 4 years later. But it still looks like
a piece of junk boat but he seem happy with it:-)That
3M 5200 can do some good patch work in a pinch.
