I believe it was about 1965 and yes, my Mom drove us.
She was a good sport and drove us to lots of stuff.
But man, i hated being seen with my Mom!! Later she
let me take the car. Oddly, She always preferred that I
drive. Grew up in Faribault so, twin cities were just not
that far.

Yeah, sure, I remember that.  I was in the fifth grade and wanted to hitch
hike up to the Twin Cities for the concert but my mom wouldn't let me.  8-)

If I remember correctly (not likely) the first big concert I went to was
John Denver in St. Peter, MN circa 1970.  I was 12 or 13.  I went with my
mom.  I know you're not supposed to date your mom but, Oedipus Shmoedipus, I
still love the old gal!
