[Rhodes22-list] Michael's Option List for Seaward 26RK

Michael: Your "options list" would indeed make the vessel a "top ender" and
I would probably choose most of them myself. The larger cleats - a must.
The stainless ports really would make her "shine." The instruments would be
a necessity depending on where and how you plan to sail. Prop choices are
always an "issue" but I can see advantages to your potential choices. The
stove would be a necessity. I like your "head" choice. The doors for the
Vee berth and the head would be an improvement. May have an issue with the
solid door for the head as room is a premium - not enough room inside and
the steps covering the motor would prevent opening out. The folding door
was okay - may challenge your children for a bit but when they really need
the privacy, they would be able to handle it. Shower option would be a
must! Would opt for both an interior shower in the head (wet head) for
cooler times and a cockpit shower for better times.
An upgrade to the cushions would be a must. Reefing options you desire are
sound.
Going out a distance dictates the mast head mounted antenna for the VHF and
I would add a GPS.
"Think" I would add a second back stay. Probably not a necessity but I
would be more comfortable with it.
Hope I hit the high points. We looked the boat over thoroughly (as we
cleaned her up {:>). She is well built and would make most sailors very
happy captains.
We are still stuck on loving the Rhodes for when we give up the Tartan 37.
Both boats - Rhodes and Seaward - drew considerable interest at the show and
thus Stan and Elton (you too Rose) should be happy campers.
