Rig to single-hand whenever possible.  

Many volunteer "crew" people do not know 
much about sailing, some do not know the 
meaning of "Now!", and few know your boat.

Be ready to do it all yourself, and you
will be less likely to get exasperated
with guests.  When you can please 
yourself, it is easier to please others.

And there will be days when the boat is a
refuge from the many demands of life in a
crowd.  Then, and especially then, you 
will want to be able to handle your boat
easily by yourself.
