Tom,

As you know, all of us Tohatsu owners are happy with our motors.  They have been very reliable.  I am seriously considering getting the 8 hp 4 stroke because it is the quietest 4 stroke in it's class and I am planning to use my boat in a different way involving more motoring than I have in the past.  The weight of the Tohatsu is also reasonable--at 81 lbs it's 20 lbs heavier than my 8 hp 2 stroke, and 20 lbs lighter than most of the other 8 hp 4 strokes.

But the noise factor is most important to me.  I already have the remote control unit which I think I can move from the 2 stroke to the 4 stroke.  Otherwise I'll get another--they are worth the price of admission.

thanks bill...im pretty sure thats what im going to end up with...the suzuki 
looks good too but there are no dealers for service in my area
