Ben, Richard and Michael,

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.  As in many things, it seems the preparation is everything for such a trip.

Perhaps the best weather would be found somewhere mid June to mid July.  Hopefuly Long Island would create a sea breeze that time of year on clear days. We would depart at Tom's dock in Babylon, LI and proceed counter-clockwise around.  If time ran short, we could be picked up on the north shore someplace.
