[Rhodes22-list] Generator and Camping question... (a follow-u p)

Yeah, but getting to the charger or the batteries is more difficult than
just plugging the trailer into the gen. Given that, it'll probably be best
to go with a little more generator.
It looks like Yamaha is going to go after that market...
http://yamahagenerators.com/ef1000is.htm?cart=10909477372971758
so I bet they'll be coming out with a quiet and portable version of their
1600, which might be just the right size. Maybe that'll put some price
pressure on Honda 2000, which basically has no real competition right now.
Maybe the thing to do is to wait until I really need one. Of course, then
it might be too late. If I'd bought the Honda when you guys were talking
about it, I'd have one now and would have paid less for it. I figured
prices would come down with additional competition, just like other
technologies. Guess I misjudged the market!
I'll probably just waffle around on it until I really need the thing. Maybe
it'll never happen and I'll have saved $1k!

Doug,
At 975 watts max, I would go for the 2000. Athough, you could probably get
by with a 1000 if you by-passed the trailer inverter and charged you
battery directly off the genset if it want to kick out the breaker. My 1000
does have connections for 12 volt charging, directly off the genset.
