Hi Frank,
I too am fairly new to this list. I have now owned a Rhodes 22 since May, 2004 and am absolutely thrilled with it. It is a terrific boat and full of exciting surprises.
I have been on this list the last few months and have learned a huge amount. There are a lot of speicifc features of the Rhodes 22 that you can learn about by being here, and reading some of the wonderful experiences others have is really interesting. Any time I have asked a question or made a comments, I have been treated really well and have been made to feel welcome.
Don't let a little "ranting and raving" give you the wrong impression. I look at it like this. If you walked into a great store or restaurant for example, and someone was screaming and shouting about something for a few minutes, would you refuse to ever go to that store/restaurant ever again and leave? Sometimes people flip out for reasons that we don't know (I have never really figured out why he lost it). People are just people. Move on - but don't throw the good out because of a short bad experience.
This site is worthwhile if you get the boat and there are very helpful, friendly people here.
Good luck either way with your new Rhodes 22.
Mark

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] new to list & goodbye
Good morning.
I signed up for the list yesterday, and received my first digest today. Whew!
Like many, I thought the list would provide some helpful information, and it seems to. And like others, my impression is that most of you seem to be generous and accomodating persons.
But I have to admit that I was stunned to read some of the comments posted on the site, regardless of cause. And when another member expressed his concerns, it appears that he was told he hadn't been around long enough to post his opinion. Then he was told he was violating the public trust by using his computer to send an email. Again, whew!
After some research, I am thinking of purchasing a Rhodes 22. It seems like a terrific boat. And after all, it is a boat that I'm interested in.
On the other hand, life is short, and there is plenty to read during the course of the day, so I'll say goodbye and unsubscribe.
