[Rhodes22-list] Capacity plate - help!

Ed, I will have to look it up in my text book to be certian but I have been 
teaching that "all power vessels manufactured after a certian date (1976 
ish) are required to have a capacity plate stating Maximum weight/Number of 
passengers and Maximum HP of the power plant.  I don't believe this is 
required of sailing vessels.  They provide an alternate formula to figure 
capacity of sailing vessels.  I will get back to you after I read the letter 
of the law.  Bob W
