Hi Everybody,

For those of you that are thinking about installing inboard genoa tracks on your boat &/or wondering about the correct way to use them, please go to the library and read the following reference:

Rick Grajirena, "The Barber-Hauler, Ins and Out of A Genoa Sheeting Device", in , "More SAIL Trim", (SAIL Books, Boston, MA, 1979), Charles Mason, editor, ISBN 0-914814-18-4, pp. 20-23

The author of this short article, Rick Grajirena, discusses the design & use of a simple block & tackle device called a "barber-hauler" that effectively does away with need for movable genoa cars, rerouting genoa sheets inboard & outboard of the shrouds, & switching from inboard to outboard genoa tracks. Mr. Grajirena certainly has the sailing credentials to recommend the barber-hauler. He has been manager of Hood Sailmakers, coached the US Olymipic 470 sailing team, & has won multiple US & international championships in various classes of sailing dingys

For most of you, using a barber-hauler might be a much simpler way of life than having to fool with rerouting sheets, switching genoa tracks, etc.
