Hi Wally, I agree with Steve. I have a 155 and am very happy with the size.
I need a 1 size fits all and it is a good compromise. Winds in the 8 - 12
kt are perfect. I usually start reefing right about 12 kt. Anthing less
than 8 kt a 175 might be helpfull but at 8 the 155 has you moving just fine.
I think the balancing of the design assumes a 175. With a 155 I have a
hard time tuning out lee helm snice the center of effort is further forward.
If I had to do it all over again I would wan a much lighter 155. I have
a doyle sail which is dacron the thickness of a storm sail - it is hard to
shap in light winds. The 155 goes on outside of upper stays and comes back
to just aft of the doghouse. hope it helps. Bob
