Ken,
Ken total floatation foam on a Rhodes 22 is not a set number. This
is especially true in the v berth area because over the years the number of
batteries and size of water tank and if there is a holding take vary the
size. The general volume amount used is proprietary information in Stan's
head.
The amount of space available on a Rhoades 22 is inherent in the
design of the boat. Your boat is not from the inception designed for the
addition of marine floatation foam. Other boats may have floatation foam
added, but as you have learned, you will have to give up storage or other
space. That is the way it is because of the original design of the boat. A
Catalina 22 is a nice boat, but not the same as a Rhodes 22.
