Ashley,
Don't worry go for it and be happy!
The main thing is that your gonna go sailing. I'm partial to a Rhodes
like everyone else on this list but we all have our economic limitations and
boundary criteria to work with. If you have good vibes towards the Chrysler
and it's overall condition go for it. After a season of sailing and keeping
your eyes open who knows that special Rhodes may be available.
Fair winds, Richard Day

To all,
again thankyou for your input
Jeff, I tried to access this site http://www.chryslersailing.org. it does
not work.
Although i have found the yahoo user group for Chrysler 22's
As for trailering to (or from) Chicago..(chuckle how funny i just grabbed
Chicago out of the air.. who knew..?)
I suppose at this point i might travel to Chicago.. My trailer anyway could
make it.. Don't know about my 88 Chev blazer w/200+K Miles tho..
My price range.. well lets put it this way, I am going to check out the
recycled boats, but i
am going to guess they are way out of my price range..
I can get a 75' Chrysler 22 for $2500 to $3000 Has sails, inside and out
totally refurbished, all chrome re-done, curtains, cushions, top paint, all
fiberglass and gelcoat repairs are really nice.. Woodwork is great..
Owner is REALLY meticulous.. Really nice boat - But it will never have
features of Rhodes, like a galley, or light swing keel (need a winch to pull
it up)
The only Rhodes 22 i know of in connecticut or anywhere I can probably get
for $1800
it is year 76'.
The more i read on and look at boats i realize it is really beat. The sails
are ripped, the motor mount has cracked the transom, the molding inside is
all off, wiring is all overthe place hap-hazardly. Wiring is not hidden at
all, Holes just drilled everywhere with wires hanging out, All the wood
inside doesn't quite line up with anything, Seat cushions and vberth are a
mess.. all the fittings are loose, The wood is cracked and often custom made
(and poorly) You get the idea.. THe owner just did a half hazard job at
anything...
Both Boats are NO trailer, No Motor (which is fine because i have both)
The max I can spend is $4000
Anyone have any ideas..?
Considering that the Rhodes 22 sounds more and more rare, (especially for my
price range) I am kind of leaning towards the chrysler.
Help appreciated
Ashley
