Now, I am glad you mentioned unstrapping the boat from the trailer.  How does everyone keep the boat on the trailer when traveling?  When I bought my Columbian, the PO had tied the boat down to the trailer with docklines around the bunks.  I don't think it looks to reliable.  I don't see any rings or anything to hook a strap to either.
