Ok, Here's one for upcomming Memorial Day. In the early '90's I kept the boat at
Parish Creek Marina off the West River on the Chesapeake. At the time the
marina had a ramp for launching and a bulkheaded indentation about 12 feet
wide and maybe 20 feet long. This was where the travel lift would go out
and lower a boat into the water. The drop was perhaps 4 or 5 feet. One
Memorial day it seems some good 'ol boys with their ski boat wanted to put
it in the water after a few brews. They skillfully and with great velocity
backed it off the bulkhead and into the travel lift bay. Good trailer, it
held on for at least a minute before the tounge broke and boat and trailer
took the plunge. Vocabulary words omited. Tough on the ski boat guys but
lots of entertainment for the rest of the marina.
