[Rhodes22-list] advice on ground for battery

Hank,

The issue of whether or not to bond all 12 VDC systems on a boat to an earth
ground is controversial. Since Lou cited Don Casey's book, ("Sailboat
Electrics Simplified"), & is a big boy; I presume he has already considered
the pros & cons, made the decision regarding "yes or no", and only had
questions of "how" to implement the grounding. This is what I tried to help
him with. There have been numerous threads & discussions on this list about
the question of "yes or no".

Before you make sweeping statements such as in the post below, I suggest you
also read a good reference on the subject, such as Don Casey's book. This
issue is no where near as open & shut as you make it sound.

Why do you think highly efficient sintered bronze grounding plates such as
the Guest Dynaplate are commercially available?
