[Rhodes22-list] College Funding: Waco Texas

Jim,

I was in Waco in the 1975 time frame.  My instructor
was Gary Taurpley.I met him at McGregor where my
airplane was based.  Gary was a TSTI graduate who
eventually ended up at American.  He may still live in
Waco - I haven't heard from him in years.  My boss
tried to get me to stay in Waco and attend MCC and
then Baylor.  All my friends were going to school in
IL so like any stupid kid, I went back.  I really
liked Waco and passed up a great opportunity there.

My engineer last week worked for our company as an A &
P for 15 years and last year got hired as a pilot.  He
figures in another five years he'll be back to what he
was making as a mechanic.  Good skill-set to have.
