Amen, Amen.  We sold our R22 through Stan and both buyer and seller (us) are
happy with the result.  PS  We bought a new Seaward 26RK from Elton.

About 1 1/2 years ago, I bought a great used Rhodes 22 instead of buying
a recycled boat from Stan. It is a great boat, I got a great deal. I
purchased it from Bill Berner, who was a respected member of this list,
and took excellent care of his boat.

Having said all that, if I could do it over again I would purchase a
recycle from Stan.

Heck, finance the difference in cost. It will save you money, not to
mention the support and peace of mind you will get from buying from the
manufacturer.

Who knew you could contact the owner of a company direct.  I read the
proposal on the recycled boats, seems like a great deal, but still out
of reach for me at this point.

Everyone keeps referencing talking to Stan? Who is he? Does he sell used
Rhodes 22's? I'm in the research portion of my purchase of a used
sailboat
and from all that I've read, I'm in love with the Rhodes 22 and haven't
even
seen one.

What is the best way to go about finding someone to crew with to get
some
experience and the feel of a boat? I live in NH and we spend summers at
Lake Winnipasaukee.
