Bill,

Now you know why the NTSB almost always discounts
eyewitness accounts.  We had one of our MD-10s go off
the runway last December, broke off a wing and caught
on fire (the crew and seven jumpseaters escaped with
minor injuries).  All the evidence points to a hard
downwind landing with a heavy sideload (black boxes
that are actually orange cans tell the real story). 
Lots of evidence.  A friend of mine was jumpseating in
the cockpit and he swears "everything was normal, it
just started heading for the sidelines and broke
apart".  I know he's telling the truth based on how
his brain percieved the event.

Speaking of which, I need to get offline and get the
hell out of Newark.  It's showtime for LA in thirty
minutes.
