Steve,

Actually, the 36' sails very close to the wind for a cruiser.  To 
demonstrate, the sales guy had us head up as close hauled as possible, then
we tacked 
through 96 deg. according to the GPS to refill the sails.  I generally don't
get 
much less than 100 deg in my R22 with the 175% genny completely out.
