They saw you coming and rated the boat as a ringer.
You have 3 options.
1. Get everyone on the list to join PHRF fleets and compete consistent
with our "nice guys finish last" philosophy.
2. Sail stupid in the early races to increase the handicap, then kill
them in the big race. (Warning: you will not be alone in this
strategy--you've got to make the boat look really bad.)
3. Sail against the handicap you were given, and let us know where you
wind up. The R-22 is a much faster boat than it is given credit for.
The 175 can give you more of an advantage than the -6 you lose--it will
win races for you in certain conditions. Don't say a word about the
prop adjustment--it's a gift.
