[Rhodes22-list] rigging

Richard,

Turnbuckles only. That's where I had trouble with cotter rings. There
is so little stress on them that the rings can jiggle loose--you can't
trust them. There is so little stress on the nylon that they don't get
cut, but the locking mechanism keeps them in place, and the rigging tape
softens all the edges. I use push button pins elsewhere and have never
had any trouble with them. I back them up with washers if the hole size
is too large. I never use the quick release pins that you simply
pull--I think they have failed for everyone. The push button pins cost
a lot of money, but they last a lifetime and I've never seen one fail if
properly sized.
